Tui Na
(pronouced twee-na)
Traditional Chinese Bodywork for Modern Wellbeing
Originating in China, Tui Na is one of the four branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the other three being herbalism, Qi Gong and acupuncture.
An intense yet deeply effective massage, particularly useful when there is a specific issue, pain or dysfunction you would like to overcome.
Tui na can also be used in a way that relaxes the entire body and is available to you within peaceful setting in Gressenhall.
Prices and timings
£60 for 60 minutes
£75 for 70 minutes
£30 for a 30 minute follow-up appointment for one issue.
Please allow an additional 10-15 minutes after your appointment to gently move back into your day. Generally, I like to work one issue at a time even with a 60 minute appointment. Some dysfunctions, long-standing or on-going issues may need follow up appointments. Tui Na can be used regularly as part of a healthy lifestyle and positive maintenance and self-care.
Tui Na Massage
Restore balance, release tension, and support your body’s natural flow of energy.
Tui Na (pronounced twee-nah) is a form of traditional Chinese medical massage that has been practiced for thousands of years. Literally translated as “pinch and pull” (rest assured I don’t actually ‘pinch’ you during and appointment!), it focuses on stimulating the body’s energy pathways - known as meridians - to restore balance and relieve tension.
At Green View Therapies, Gressenhall, my approach to Tui Na is both adaptable. I use a combination of gripping, stretching, cross-friction, and pressure-point techniques, all designed to release deep muscular tightness and improve overall mobility. Sometimes, I may use Emmett Techniques if I believe this would be more beneficial. Emmett Technique is similar to Bowen Therapy and uses gentle finger point pressures and “switches” to encourage to muscles back into healthy functioning. What To Expect
Each session is tailored to your needs. Tui Na can be offered as a standalone treatment, or it may be combined with other techniques such as cupping, stretching, head massage, or gentle heat therapy to further support recovery and relaxation.
The massage follows the body’s meridian lines, applying pressure to specific acupressure points and areas of tension. By encouraging the smooth flow of “Qi” - your body’s natural energy - Tui Na promotes both physical and emotional balance.
In some areas, the massage may feel intense, a sensation I describe as a “sweet pain.” This can be uncomfortable whilst at the same time feeling deeply satisfying, as the muscles begin to release and soften. Afterwards, most people experience a sense of lightness, freedom, and calm.
The Benefits
Tui Na is particularly effective for easing deep-seated tension and promoting natural healing.
It can help to:

Improve joint mobility and flexibility
Support recovery from injuries or overuse
Reduce stress and calm the nervous system
Encourage the natural flow of energy throughout the body
While it’s often used to address specific physical concerns, Tui Na also supports emotional balance, helping you feel more at ease and connected in both body and mind.
